The Spread Love Scholarship

Eliminating the stigma and judgment around mental health in Black and African American communities is an unquestionable issue of importance in the world today.

The Spread Love Scholarship will support students who plan to spend their careers creatively addressing mental health issues in these communities. This mission is important because of the stigma and judgment surrounding mental health, which can damage relationships and alienate people. Those with mental health challenges have to find ways to cope with those struggles, whether through creative outlets or elsewhere. This scholarship will be given to two students who are interested in making a difference in the fight for equity in mental and emotional wellness in Black/African American communities.

Black/African American high school seniors or undergraduate students are eligible to apply if they are pursuing a career in bettering mental health, such as psychological studies, social work, anthropology, communications, fine arts, personal wellness, etc. Students must have volunteering or community service experience to apply. Preference will be given to students who have done work or internships in the mental health field. In your application, write about how your experiences with mental health have influenced your life and how you plan to use your career to make an impact.
